Hi friend,
Here’s the thing about a vantage point. You only get one if you stop moving. You have to pause long enough to actually look. When you finally pause, you start noticing what still matters.
The photograph in this envelope is one of those pauses. Soft light, real weather, a real sunset where I stood in one place longer than was comfortable. Nobody generated it. Now it’s here, in your hands.
That’s what this club has become. It started as me mailing a photograph. It’s turning into a small group of people, in cities I’ve never been to, who all opened the same envelope this week and slowed down for a minute. Every month there are a few more of you. Every month the map gets a little bigger.
Thanks for being on this side of it with me.

Excerpted. The full letter went out with Edition No. 03. Letters back find me at PO Box 9085, Seattle, WA 98109. I read everything.
Printed on quality paper stock. One month, one frame, made to keep long after the light has moved on.
A short letter on the season, the hour, and what pulled me to the picture.
A growing record of quiet light, one month at a time. A collection that gathers weight as it goes.
We just opened your October mail. This is my favorite photograph yet! Love this kind of geometric abstraction.
Like a magazine that has issues, there are so many styles, seasons, messages, things to experiment with. I used to work for a magazine and that’s what it’s reminding me of.
Love the color, paper weight, texture, font, and the message! Fantastic job!
